.:Sports’ Day 2004:.
Suppose to do 1st aid duty, but ma’am said that there is an overcrowding, I can choose whether to do or not. I chose not to. Thinking that I can help out with the prefects’ duty since there’s sufficient manpower for 1st aid duty. But it seemed that I need not do any at all. Happily I thought that I can sit with the house and cheer my heart out. Little did I know that I had to run 400m. Only darling (Tiara) and Eng Chen is running and no one else wanna go. They needed 2 more runners. But all those who are pretty good runners don’t wanna run. Tried to persuade them so many times… but to no avail. Running 400m is like wanting to shorten my life! Full round around the entire stadium! Never had to run so much before in my life other than for NAFA, not for competitions. Decided to run anyway. I know I’m slow. But at least I’d won myself by running. So what if I lose? I’m doing it for good sportsmanship. Thanks Cheryl for lending my your sports shoes, or else I would have had to run in my black shoes.
Seeing other competitors from other classes, we know that we have no chance of winning. But we aimed not to be last. It’s quite impossible not to be. Never mind. We’ll just put in our best efforts. At least we tried our best. Waited so long for our race… Hoping to finish it and forget about it. But it was one of the last few events. When the time came, we got so nervous… Can’t help it. Other classes almost all either trackers or games. Ours? None of us are in the sports nor games.
I was the third runner. Our class was already lagging behind in the 1st round. But never mind, we’ll complete it in good spirit. Finally my turn came. Though I was the last one to start. Sprinted right from the start. Don’t wish us to be lagging so far apart. Tried my best to at least pull the gap nearer. Half way through already feel like dying. It was nice of Mr. Eric Tan to cheer me on… Slowed down a little. Then saw all the red cross people at the side cheering my on and tried to muster my strength to run faster. I completed my part. Planted my butt right on the grass patch. Legs and stomach crammed [O.P]. Took a long time to cool down. Till now still soft…
Thanks for all those who congratulated me and cheered on. I felt that at least our efforts were recognized. You’re all greatly appreciated. Unlike some people who made some stupid comments. Hee... Some people said that I didn’t run too badly and that it was a good one! =) So happy!
Gardenia is a great house. Though I didn’t really like it in the beginning because of the colour. We are the Champion house. Ran another 400m at the end… Oh gosh! Why do I have to do it twice?
Went to Long John for lunch wanted to take neoprints but the machines were gone. It’s under renovations. Bought my First Love! Yeah! Unwilling to come home without neoprints so went all the way to P.S to take. Then came home.. Haha, walked around with my face that’s painted with 2 green strips and a G. It’s seemed on the neoprint as well.. Super tired already…. It sure is a day to remember.
